Sadly, there's no magic spell that can undo the hurt Donald Trump's ascendance to United States presidency has caused many American women and minority groups. Still, Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling, a tried and true liberal, is urging the disappointed and devastated to keep their heads up, and keep fighting for a more inclusive future.

At last night's (November 10) premiere of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them at New York City's Lincoln Center, Rowling told Variety that little girls, in particular, need only look elsewhere in the world for proof that Trump's election is a temporary setback. There's strong evidence a woman president is not a long shot or pipe dream, she said.

"There's a female president in this movie, we have a female Prime Minister in the U.K. and we have [Chancellor] Angela Merkel in Germany," she said. "It will happen here. It will happen here. And, let's not forget, most people did vote for Hillary, so hang on in there, girls."

Rowling has been a frequent and avowed opponent of Donald Trump, and has spent months routinely spelling out the dangers he poses to many Americans on Twitter and in interviews.

"Well, there you have it. A highly intelligent, experienced woman just debated a giant orange Twitter egg. Your move, America," she tweeted after an October debate. "When a man this ignorant & easy to manipulate gets within sniffing distance of the nuclear codes, it's everyone's business," she wrote to her nearly nine-million followers a day later.
