A tractor trailer jackknifed across Route 1 in Amity Thursday morning after avoiding a crash with a residential plow truck.

Aroostook County Sheriff's Office

The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office said 56-year-old Donald Lloyd of Topsfield was driving his tractor trailer north on Route 1 around 9:22 am when he swerved to avoid crashing into a pickup truck driven by 60-year-old Joseph Petroski.

Petroski was plowing snow across Route 1 from his residence, and said he did not see the tractor trailer coming due to a curve in the roadway, according to Deputy Sheriff Alishia Ledger.

Lloyd’s tractor trailer jackknifed across Route 1, causing damage to the passenger side and the trailer box.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts and no one was injured in the crash, the Sheriff's Office said. The tractor trailer was towed and Petroski’s pickup sustained no damage.
