The Presque Isle Downtown Revitalization Committee and the City of Presque Isle are excitedly making last minute preparations for the 2018 Rocking on Riverside Concert Series.

The musical event is sponsored by Griffeth Honda, which kicks off on Thursday, May 31 at 6:00 p.m. with the band “Common Crossing”.  The six- concert series will take place every other week and end for the 2018 season on August 9.

“There is definitely a lot of excitement and anticipation this year”, said Kim Smith, Public Information Officer for the City.  Part of this, she feels, is due to a new layout and the purchase of an inflatable acoustic band shell.  The band shell, which was provided by the City of Presque Isle Police Department with unclaimed drug money, is 43 feet across the front and a clam shell design.

The new layout will feature the band shell on the grass just to the north of the Pavilion.  The beer garden will be relocated underneath the Pavilion and the Children’s Activities Area, sponsored by the University Credit Union and operated by the Northern Lighthouse will be on the grass north of the band shell.  In addition, over twenty vendors have signed up for the concert series to date.
