Ice Cube is shutting down rumors that the fourth installment of the Friday series is coming out soon.

Rumor had it that Ice Cube's son, O'Shea Jackson, who played his father in the N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton, will take on the role of Friday's Craig. The alleged fake post also stated that DJ Young Fly would take on the role of Smokey, who was originally played by Chris Tucker. The news was seemingly coming from a trusty source -- Jackson's Facebook page. But alas, Ice Cube told his fans that the news wasn't true.

"This is fake," read Ice Cube's tweet next to a screenshot of the post. “My son doesn’t have a Facebook account. Can’t mess with a classic."

It's been 14 years since the last Friday movie, Friday After Next, appeared in theaters. And we would be lying if we said we wouldn't be hype about the idea. The Friday series has been long overdue for the final and highly rumored film, Last Friday. And O'Shea Jackson certainly looks the part. Hopefully this post will get Ice Cube's mind back to the much-loved series.

In the meantime, he'll be pretty busy. After Ride Along 2 and Barbershop: The Next Cut hit theaters, Ice Cube has two more films on the way. He's slated to take on the role of Scrooge in another remake of A Christmas Carol dubbed Humbug. He's also starring in  a comedy, Fist Fight, with Charlie Day.

As for his son, Jackson is slated to appear in his second film, Ingrid Goes West, a comedy that also stars Elizabeth Olsen and Aubrey Plaza.
