Sportsmanship Lacking in Houlton, Mattanawcook Academy Game [OPINION]

By now, you may have read Bob Beatham's column in the Bangor Daily News, about the terrible sportsmanship on the court in the game between Houlton and Mattanawcook Academy on Friday night, Jan. 23, a game won by Houlton 85-41.

Kyle Bouchard, the standout from Houlton was the subject of numerous cheap shots by the Mattanawcook Academy Lynx basketball player, based on the videos below. Luckily, he wasn't injured. Ben Drew, a father of a player on the Houlton team, took video of the game. He has allowed us to post these clips, so you can see for yourself what happened.

I've seen lots of basketball games in Maine broadcasting games on WDEA. Luckily, I haven't seen anything like this before, and hope that I don't ever again witness such poor sportsmanship.
