Last Thursday, Health Canada's agency said it's increasing their efforts to warn youngsters in Canada about the potential risks associated with vaping.

Trend Primo reports that Health Canada spokesman Maryse Durette said that the governing body has launched a multi-phase effort in order to try and deal with what they see as an increasing problem among youngsters in Canada.

There are studies that show that the more youngsters vape the less they smoke cigarettes and other tobacco products.

Durette said that Health Canada is well aware of the rapidly evolving market for vaping products and the fact that producers are bringing more product into Canadian markets.

The first phase of the Health Canada campaign has gotten off the ground via paid ads and social media spots urging parents to begin discussing the risks of vaping with their children.

The U.S. has conducted surveys and has found that about 3.6 million teens in the U.S. are using e-cigarettes and that is represented by one in five high schoolers and one in 20 Jr. High and middle school children.

Health Canada admitted that much of the research concerning vaping and the potential harms they pose are still in its early stages, however, what they've found so far have been described as 'alarming.'

Many school boards are seeing the e-cigarette and vaping behaviors in their school, but are wanting to curtail student vaping activity by removing washroom doors and fining those who might be caught vaping on campus.
