‘Harry Potter’ Movies (Yes, All of Them) Heading to IMAX for One Week Only
We’ll be returning to J.K. Rowling’s magical world of wizards this November with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and to help get you in the proper spirit, Warner Bros. is re-releasing all eight of the Harry Potter films — in IMAX, no less. There is a catch, of course: The films will only screen for one week, so if you want to see Mr. Potter & Co. on the very-very-big screen, you might want to clear your calendar.
Beginning on October 13, Warner Bros. will screen all eight Harry Potter films in IMAX for the first time in the U.S. in anticipation of the November 18 IMAX release of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. It will also be the first time that Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets have been released in IMAX theaters, following a full digital re-master of both films.
The screenings will be in 2D IMAX format and include an exclusive sneak peek reel for Fantastic Beasts along with a featurette from the fan event and special introduction messages from Eddie Redmayne and his co-stars. In addition, screenings in Los Angeles and London will feature appearances from cast members and live Q&As.
Tickets to the week-long Harry Potter IMAX event are available to purchase in various packages: Single Ticket; Day Access (admittance to three or more shows in a single day); Four-Show Access (admittance to four shows any time, any day); and Festival Access. So if you’d understandably rather skip the first two films in the series, you could totally go for two Day Access passes or individual tickets to enjoy the rest.
In addition to the re-mastered IMAX versions of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets, the event includes IMAX screenings of Prisoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire, Order of the Phoenix, Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows Parts 1 and 2. The international event kicks off on October 13. For more info on tickets and locations, visit the official IMAX website.
