Today, Dec. 16, is the 43rd birthday of famed producer Scott Storch.

Storch was born in Hova Scotia, Canada, but he was raised in Philadelphia and Southern Florida. Though he was attending school and working odd jobs, Scott started taking music seriously in 1991. He started off in The Roots as a keyboard player and by the late '90s had pinpointed his talent in beat making. His first big hit was Dr. Dre's "Still D.R.E.," recorded in 1999.

Storch is responsible for some of the most memorable hip-hop beats in the 21st century. He went viral online earlier this year when he performed a fire piano medley of all his favorite beats: from Dr. Dre’s “Still D.R.E.,” Snoop Dogg’s “Lay Low,” Eve’s “Let Me Blow Ya Mind,” The Roots’ “You Got Me,” Beyonce’s “Me, Myself and I” to Fat Joe’s “Make It Rain.”

Though he's dealt with drug and alcohol addictions that caused many musicians to distance themselves from Storch, the recently clean producer has been spotted in the studio this year with old friends like Dre, Lil Wayne and more.

Happy Birthday, Scott Storch!
