Friday, July 1 is Canada Day,  Fête du Canada, a federal statutory holiday celebrating the anniversary of the July 1, 1867 enactment of the Constitution Act which united three colonies into a single country called Canada within the British Empire.

Premier Brian Gallant issued a statement for Canada Day:

“On Canada’s 149th birthday, it is easy to celebrate and be thankful for living in the best country in the world. Let us take time to celebrate our great country with family, friends and fellow New Brunswickers."
