Gas prices in New England have remained fairly steady in the past week.

According to gas monitoring website, GasBuddy.com, Maine's price at the pump went up just about a penny to $2.23 a gallon. Prices in Presque Isle were much higher, though. Most stations were charging $2.33 a gallon, on average.

New Hampshire's gas prices also rose slightly to $2.19 a gallon. And in Vermont, prices at the pump went down a cent-and-a-half to $2.28 a gallon.

The national average jumped up 3.4 cents to $2.25 a gallon, which is a drop of 7.9 cents a gallon in the last month. However, the price is 2.7 cents a gallon higher than it was a year ago.
