BREAKING NEWS: Fort Kent's Austin Theriault is out as driver of the #1 Hattori Racing Team car in the NASCAR K & N East Series. He will not drive tomorrow in the race at Greenville, South Carolina Labor Day and it appears he is out of the car for the rest of the season.

Theriault told Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket Sunday that he doesn't have many details and that "I'm still trying to figure it out myself". Check out comments (below) from Theriault facebook page and the K & N Series race page lists driver Spencer Davis moving into the #1 car.

Theriault was 3rd in the driver points standings with seven top-10 finishes in 11 events.

Theriault raced in the Oxford 250 in his own car last Sunday here in Maine and finished 35th.

He was scheduled to race in the K & N Series event tomorrow. The remaining races on his schedule page have been removed.

AUSTIN THERIAULT FACEBOOK:

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I will not be in the No. 1 HRE Toyota for this weekend’s NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race.

I do appreciate and thank the HRE team for allowing me to race for them this season and we attained good things, including six top five finishes and sat 3rd in points after the 11th race of the season.

I hope to be back racing soon and will keep plugging away.
