A Frenchville couple escaped with just minor injuries when their pickup went off Interstate 95 in Island Falls and rolled over late Thursday afternoon.

State Police say 49-year-old Daniel Ouellette was driving a 2006 Dodge pickup northbound at around 5:30 p.m. when he fell asleep at the wheel.

After losing control, the vehicle went off the road and eventually rolled over, coming to rest upside down approximately 70 feet off the highway, according to Trooper Gavin Endre.

Mr. Ouellette and his passenger, 46-year-old Sheila Ouellette, sustained minor injuries but were not transported to the hospital. Police say both were wearing their seat belts.

Lt. Brian Harris and Trooper Gavin Endre responded to the crash near mile marker 276. Island Falls Fire and Ambulance crews assisted at the scene.
