Frank Ocean is one of the most elusive artists of any music genre. On Tuesday (Oct. 18), the Blonde singer gave his first interview in three years.

Rocking white-and-black, checkered slip-on Vans, the "Nikes" singer poses for pictures with his mother, and then he answers a few questions for reporters. Video of the brief interview appeared on C-Span. You can view the 90-second clip above via @TeamFrankDaily on Twitter. The first question Ocean gets is, "Have you ever worn Vans to a state dinner?" The Long Beach, Calif. native replies, "First time doing it. Probably because it's my first time here." The reporter follows up with, "What was the thinking behind the Vans," to which Ocean responds, "You can't think. You just have to do thangs."

When asked what he's looking forward to the most at the state dinner, Ocean says, "Asking Obama if he had fun these last eight years. Just congratulating him, also." Additionally, the 28-year-old enigmatic musician says he never saw himself attending a state dinner, and when asked if he'd show support for Hilary Clinton with a concert, he says he isn't planning on it. Meanwhile, Ocean's mother tweeted, “I am so blessed to have a son that includes me in his once in a lifetime events!!! I just hugged our First Lady!!!!”

In case you missed it, read up on how Chance The Rapper also attended Barack and Michelle's final state dinner at the White House a couple days ago. Chano brought his father with him, and he was live-tweeting the event. At one point, the Chi-town rhymer tweeted, “Gwen Stefani just sang to me at the White House. And pointed at me. Bro. I’m dead.”
