Former My Chemical Romance guitarist Frank Iero has assured fans he's "in stable condition" after being involved in a serious traffic accident between concert stops in Australia.

Local reports (via NME) indicate that Iero was traveling with his band, Frank Iero and the Patience, to a tour stop in Sydney when his tour van collided with a bus. The Sydney show, originally scheduled for Oct. 13, has been canceled.

Saying one of the parties involved "escaped injury but two other men had to be taken to hospital," the report adds, "One of the men was airlifted to St Vincent’s Hospital, the other was taken by road. They are both reported to be serious but stable. The bus was not carrying any passengers at the time and the driver was taken to hospital for mandatory tests. Iero is giving statements to police."

After news of the accident broke, Iero took to Twitter to assure fans he was safe.

Patience bassist Alexander Paul also commented on the incident via social media, telling followers he wasn't at the scene when the accident took place and assuring concerned parties that "everyone is in stable condition" before thanking fans for their well wishes.

Iero has been touring in support of the band's upcoming LP Parachutes, due in stores Oct. 28. They're currently scheduled to start a North American tour on the album's release date, followed by a run through Europe and Russia in early 2017.
