RCMP have arrested four people including two who were seriously injured in a violent home invasion in Moncton early Monday morning.

Police responded to the scene on Redmond Street shortly before 1:30 a.m., according to Cpl. Don Moore of the Codiac Regional RCMP. Two suspects are alleged to have forcibly entered a residence and an altercation ensued which left the two intruders with serious knife wounds, Moore said.

Four people, ranging in age from 16 to 22, were inside the home when the invasion occurred. Two of them sustained minor injuries.

The two suspects who sustained serious injuries, a 23-year-old Moncton man and a 25-year-old Moncton man, were transported to hospital for treatment.  Both were arrested and remain under police watch at the hospital, Cpl. Moore stated.

The two other people were arrested at the scene. a 24-year-old Moncton woman and a 17-year-old Moncton boy, whom police say remained in a vehicle outside the residence during the invasion.

The investigation is continuing.
