Fort Fairfield was too much to handle for the Piscataquis Pirates Tuesday morning, as the Tigers cruised to a quarterfinal win at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

The No. 2 Tigers extended their lead in the second half, building to a 66-43 win over No. 7 Piscataquis and a trip to the semifinals on Friday.

Junior Isaac Cyr scored 19 points before fouling out with 4:41 in the fourth quarter. Senior Chris Giberson had 15 points. Point guard Ryan Palmer had 11 points.

Junior Bryce Gilbert led the Pirates with 16 points.

For Fairfield improves to 18-1 and advances to the semifinals Friday at 2:05 p.m. against No. 6 Schenck, which defeated No. 3 Hodgdon in the first quarterfinal of the day in Bangor.
