Rain and rapidly melting snow Friday led to road flooding in the County, while ice jam flooding along the Aroostook River forced the closure of a few roads.

The Maine DOT reopened the Grimes Road at the Fort Fairfield/Caribou town line late Saturday morning. Officials say an ice jam along the river caused water to rise above the roadway for several hours after Friday's rains. The Aroostook County Emergency Management Agency encourages people to continue to be cautious and keep an eye on  the Aroostook River and the St. John River.
