The 2017 Grammy nominations were announced today (Dec. 6) with Beyonce leading the pack with nine nods. Drake and Kanye West received eight nominations while Chance The Rapper received seven, but as is typically the case with award shows, the Grammys in particular, there was plenty of debate as to who was and wasn't nominated.

Many on Twitter are celebrating Chance's recognition, the rapper even referencing the Award show on "Ultralight Beam," which was nominated for Best Rap/Sung Performance and Best Rap Song. On the track he raps, "I hear you gotta sell it to snatch the Grammy," though Chance's Coloring Book, which was nominated for  Best Rap Album, never once carried a price tag.

One point of contention was the fact that Desiigner and Lil Yachty each received nominations. Desiigner's "Panda" was nominated for Best Rap Performance while Yachty's work on D.R.A.M.'s "Broccoli" earned him a Best Rap/Sung Performance nod. "How the FUCK are designer and lil yacht getting Grammys???," one Twitter user asked, though it's hard to deny the work both of those song's did in the past year.
