Environment Canada has now gone mobile with the launch of a new weather app.

The Canadian Press has reported that the federal agency has launched its first weather app for Apple and Android users this week, called WeatherCAN with the ability to be operated in English and French and is free.

Another feature that has amateur meteorologists excited is the new high-resolution radar option which will assist them in guessing when the next blizzard or storm may occur.

A few of the options are that the app also has Indigenous symbols for those in the northern part of the region and push notifications are available to warn the user of extreme weather.
