Eminem’s ‘Curtain Call: The Hits’ Album Just Went Seven Times Platinum
Arguably, what drove the enormous sales were the new songs the rapper included on the 2005 project, like "When I'm Gone" and "Shake That," which both ended up in the top ten on the Billboard charts. There's also a live version of "Stan" on the album, from Em's performance with with Elton John at the 2001 Grammy Awards.
Here's another theory for the album going seven times platinum: There's a good chance that more people flocked to Curtain Call, since there was a huge gap between that album and Eminem's 2009 release Relapse but again, that's only a theory.
Some of the songs on the greatest hits album include "Lose Yourself," "Sing for the Moment," "The Real Slim Shady," "Cleanin' Out My Closet," and of course the single that started it all "My Name Is," released in 1999.
The news from RIAA comes one week after Em dropped his cut "Campaign Speech," much to his fan's delight. The veteran rhymer also said he's in the studio crafting a new project.
"Don't worry. I'm working on an album," he wrote. "Here's something meanwhile."
