Emera Maine is preparing crews and staff to address power outages, downed wires and do damage assessment over the weekend. Their focus is restoring power safely and as soon as possible to customers without service due to bad weather.

We are continuing to monitor the forecast and are positioning our resources across the service territory," said Brad Flannery, Emera Maine storm manager. "We know that customers rely on us to ensure their service is restored safely and as quickly as possible.

Northern Maine customers should have supplies like water and nonperishable foods. Batteries and flashlights are important during potential outages as well.

Keep generators at a safe distance from your home. Take precautions such as having fuel on hand, proper installation, and keeping your generator away from doors and windows.

Emera advises:

If you see a line down or a tree in contact with a downed power line, call emergency responders and Emera Maine. Never try to cut a tree down that is touching a power line, and never drive over a downed line.
