New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for the final games of the season for the league.  It is the first time he has received the honor.

Edelman had eight receptions for 151 yards and caught a touchdown pass in the Pats' 35-14 win over Miami down in Florida on Sunday.  The receiver also had a rush of six yards in the contest.

On the season, Edelman has played in all 16 games and has 98 reception for 1,106 yards, along with three scores.

The Pats are off this week after securing the first overall seed in the AFC with the win on Sunday.  New England will play on Saturday, January 14th against either Houston, Oakland, or Miami in the Divisional Round of the AFC playoffs.
