Well, we're cleaning up after the first major snowstorm of the season. Thousands of  Mainers and New Brunswickers alike are without power following a powerful storm that lashed the state with strong winds and heavy snow.

Many areas got just what was predicted, between 7 and 14 inches of the white stuff.

Maine Governor Paul LePage issued an emergency proclamation Sunday allowing utility crews to stay on the road for longer hours to help repair lines and restore power. Utility officials say the restoration efforts will take several days.

Emera Maine reported over 54,000 outages early Monday, mostly in Penobscot County. Many Houlton Water Company customers were without power for several hours on Sunday as well.

More than 10,000 customers across the province are without power this morning. More than 5,200 remain without power in the Woodstock area, more 300 in Grand Falls and right around 1,000 in Fredericton.

RCMP have issued a travel advisory, asking motorists to stay off the roads "unless absolutely necessary."

The Trans Canada Highway was reportedly closed at around 8 a.m. Monday near the Beardsley Road exit.  We'll have more details as they become available.
