After several games mired in a hitting slump, the Husson Eagles broke out in a big way Thursday afternoon, pounding out 27 hits in a doubleheader sweep of Thomas College.

The Eagles won 11-1 and 6-3, moving into second place in the North Atlantic Conference. This is the last week of the regular season.

GAME 1:  The Bangor HS connection, Christian Corneil and Sam Huston combined to go 7-for-7 with 4 RBI. J.T. Whitten had 3 hits and a RBI. Brandon Reilly went the distance on the hill to pick up his 4th win. Nik Beeson and Anree Benitez led Thomas with 2 hits each.

GAME 2:  Andrew Curran had 3 hits, Ryan Rebar and Zach Sugar added 2 each in an 11 hit attack. Dan Whitney went the distance in this one and picked up his 4th win. Zach Mathieu had 2 hits for Thomas.

The sweep puts Husson at 12-8 in the NAC, 17-18 overall. the Eagles host New England College for four games over the weekend.

Thomas is 13-11 and 19-18.
