After holding Castleton to -19 rushing yards and 88 total yards on Saturday, the Husson Eagles have climbed to #2 in the nation in the total defense stat catagory.

The Eagles are allowed just 167.2 YPG and only Amherst is giving up less yards per game.

There are 244 NCAA Division III football programs across the country.

After five games, the Eagles are giving up an average of 31.4 YPG on the ground (2nd) and 135.8 YPG in the air (10th).

Husson will host Anna Maria College from Massachusetts in an ECFC game Saturday at noon.

NOTE: RB John Smith is ECFC Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season. Smith rushed for 198 yards in the win over Castleton...The Eagles move up to #5 in this week's New England D-III Coaches Poll.
