Drug Agents Investigate 50th Meth Lab in Maine This Year
The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and Brewer Police say a suspected meth lab has been discovered inside an apartment house in Brewer. The six-unit apartment house at 164 Wilson Street was damaged by a fire Monday night.
The MDEA lab response team was processing the inside of the building Tuesday afternoon, according to Public Safety department Spokesman Steve McCausland. The State Fire Marshal’s Office also sent investigators to the scene.
There were no injuries from the fire. There's no word yet on whether the fire was connected to manufacturing the dangerous drug.
Officials say this is the 50th meth-related response by the MDEA this year.
No one had been charged as of Monday afternoon.
