Just before 7 p.m. Sunday, Troop F of the Maine State Police received a report of a vehicle operating erratically on I-95 south. As Troopers were en route, the driver went into the left lane, struck a snow bank causing his 2000 Toyota Camry to roll over one time, according to Corp. Dennis Quint. The car ended up on its right side.

The driver, identified as 41-year-old Jason Rossignol of Bangor told the trooper he was tired and lost control of his car. Trooper Kilcollins suspected Rossignol was impaired and due to the extremely cold temperatures took him to the Aroostook County Jail for a sobriety test.

Trooper Saucier, who is trained as a drug recognition expert, determined that Rossignol was Operating Under the Influence of drugs. Police did not specify what type of drug may have been involved.

Rossignol was arrested and is being held at the Aroostook County jail. State Police say he sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Police say speed was not a factor in the crash and Rossignol was wearing his seat belt.
