Police say a man from Cowan’s Creek, New Brunswick has been charged in connection with a two-vehicle collision near Tracadie after he allegedly left the scene of the crash.

Tracadie RCMP responded Monday evening to a collision involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle on Chemin Four Roads in Six Roads, N.B. The driver and passenger of the motorcycle were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Cpl. Steven Breau.

Police say the driver of the truck fled the scene of the crash, and was located by police a short time later. The man was placed under arrest.

On Tuesday, 48-year-old Donald Landry appeared in Tracadie Provincial Court and was charged with breach of an undertaking and failure/refusal to submit a breath sample. He was released and is scheduled to return to court on August 17 to enter a plea.

Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash, Breau said. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
