Freshman lefty Trevor Delaite gets the starting assignment tonight as the UMaine Black Bear baseball team takes on the national power UMiami Hurricanes. The former Bangor Ram and Mr. Baseball Award winner makes his second start and fourth appearance overall.

Delaite has pitched nine innings on his first spring trip. His ERA is 3.00 with 10 strikeouts and eight walks.

The Black Bears enter the two game series with the 'Canes at 6-8 under interim head coach Nick Derba. Tonight and Wednesday night's games are the final two of the spring trip. Maine will stop at UMaryland Baltimore County over the weekend and play an American East Conference series with the Retrievers.

UMiami owns the NCAA record of 44 consecutive years making the postseason. But, the 'Canes are off to a sluggish start this spring at 6-9. They are coming off a 2-1 weekend series win over #23 ranked Georgia Tech.

Trimper coaches UMaine for 11 seasons and took over the Stetson program back in early January.
