According to the Aroostook County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a crash at the intersection of Route 162 and the driveway of the St. Agatha School.

A 17-year-old St. Agatha resident was leaving the school in a 2012 Ford Focus and slid into the path of a southbound 2007 Freightliner tractor trailer.

The Focus collided with the rear axle of the trailer and spun out from under the trailer and came to rest in a snowbank.

The tractor trailer, owned by Northstate Transportation of Caribou, was
operated by 51-year-old Mark Lavoie of Westfield.

The trailer received only minor damage, but the Focus sustained substantial front end damage and the airbags were deployed.

Ambulance Service Inc. of Fort Kent responded and determined the 17-year-old did not require medical attention and Mr. Lavoie was not injured.

The teen was issued a summons for operating after suspension. The Maine Warden Service assisted with traffic control and Paradis' Towing removed the car.
