Convicted Richmond Corner Killer Dies in Prison

A 20-year-old man serving a life sentence for second-degree murder has been found dead in his federal penitentiary cell.

Officials say Kyle Edmund Scott was found unresponsive in his cell early Wednesday morning and pronounced dead at a local hospital at 1:20 a.m.

On May 5th of this year, Scott pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the killing of 82-year-old Sarah Kennedy in her Richmond Corner home in last October.

He was given a life sentence with no parole eligibility for 15 years.

Police and the coroner are notified of all cases of the death of an inmate. Correctional Service Canada will also review the circumstances surrounding the death.
