The Maine Gun Safety Coalition is proud to announce that Portland, Maine will once again serve as a local host of the nationwide Concert Across America to End Gun Violence.

Now in its third year, the Concert Across America raises awareness of the epidemic of gun violence that continues to plague towns and cities across the nation.

This year’s concert is being held in conjunction with a nationwide event that will bring together hundreds of communities, performers, spectators, and activists to remember the victims of gun violence and to commit to taking action to stop future tragedies.

The Portland concert will feature several teen performers, including Emma Ivey and the Ghouls, showcasing the energy and talent of youth in our own community, as well as Portland’s renowned social justice singing group, Sea Change Chorale, singer-songwriter Ronda Dale and local band Common People. The concert will conclude with all of the day’s performers joining together in to sing a version of the song “Shine”, the stirring tribute written by two Parkland, Florida students in the wake of the tragic mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Food trucks, information tables, and voter registration will also be on location.
