As the presidency of Barack Obama winds down, more and more rappers are showing their appreciation for the country's first Black Commander-in-Chief. To see Obama off in style, BET held a star-studded concert for the president called BET Presents Love & Happiness (nicknamed "Barack Obama's Block Party") where a slew of artists like Common, De La Soul, Bell Biv DeVoe, and more honored the politicos with live performances. Outside of the hip-hop world, Yolanda Adams, Hamilton’s Leslie Odom Jr., Jill Scott, Janelle Monáe and Michelle Williams also honored Barack in song. President Obama made a speech at the end of the night thanking all the performers and guests.

The BET event, which took place on Oct. 21 on the White House South Lawn, marked the final musical event under the Obama administration. The network aired the heartfelt recap to the event last night (Nov. 15). This was the same event where Obama danced to Drake's "Hotline Bling." Social media posts from rappers and music personalities confirmed that Obama got down on the dance floor to the sounds of A$AP Ferg, Young M.A, Mobb Deep and more.

This special concert followed The White House's first ever South By South Lawn festival which took place on the property back on Oct. 3. But we all know President Obama has long since been an advocate of the arts. Just this year, he invited Chance The Rapper and Frank Ocean to his final State Dinner a few months after he invited Jay Z and Kendrick Lamar to his 55th birthday party at the sacred address in August.

Check out a video, shot by Usher, of Obama dancing and singing to Champagne Papi's hit song below and recap some of his best hip-hop moments over the last eight years here.
