It was a balmy 20 degrees below zero when I woke up this morning, and even though it has warmed up some, it is still pretty cold out there. Luckily, the cold didn't seem to keep the fans away from the 2014 IBU Youth / Junior Biathlon World Championships that are taking place at the Nordic Heritage Center in Presque Isle.

The cold weather did delay the biathlon for two days this week, but the cold wouldn't stop a 10 a.m. start to today's relay event.

The fans brought blankets to keep warm, while the biathletes wore brightly colored physio tape on their faces to keep from getting wind-burn.

If you're thinking of heading to the biathlon today, remember that the event is FREE to the public! There is a heated spectator tent at the venue as well!
