(AP) One Maine city isn't waiting for the results of a vote to legalize pot.

The City Council in Westbrook has voted in favor of a 180-day moratorium on retail marijuana if the ballot measure is approved. Maine voters will decide Nov. 8 whether to legalize the personal use of weed. The council's final and second vote on the pot moratorium is set for the day before Election Day. The Portland Press Herald reports most council members support a permanent ban on retail marijuana and related facilities.
