Cary Medical Center is one of 439 hospitals in the U.S. to receive the 2018 Healthgrades Outstanding Patient Experience Award representing the top 15 percent of hospitals in the nation for patient experience.

As part of the analysis, Healthgrades evaluated 3,478 hospitals that submitted at least 100 patient experience surveys to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), covering admissions from April 2016 to March 2017 to identify hospital performance in this area.

Healthgrades then evaluated hospital performance by applying a scoring methodology to 10 patient experience measures, using data collected from a 32-question patient experience survey of the hospital’s own patients.

Kris Doody, RN, and CEO of Cary Medical Center and Pines Health Services said that it was exciting news and that it came during National Hospital Week made the announcement even more special.

“This week hospitals across nation are celebrating with a theme of, ‘Caring is our Calling”, said Doody.  “The timing of this announcement couldn’t be better.  We are so proud of our entire staff for their efforts in securing this impressive recognition.  What is so special about the patient experience award is that it is what our own patients are saying about us.  This means a lot to our staff particularly when patients say they would recommend Cary Medical Center to family and friends.  We congratulate all the hospitals that earned this award”.
