The inaugural Princess & Prince Academy will be starting in October at the Caribou Public Library. The program will teach young children ways to unite against bullying and to build positive character qualities. Academy developer Kim Parent says the ages 3-10 children's program will run for 10 weeks, with story time, crafts and snacks every week.

At the end of the program there will be a crowning ceremony where all participants will receive a certificate and crown. Parent says more dates and details will be on the way and will be posted at the Caribou Public Library website and Facebook page.

Parent says the pilot program will start in Caribou and then may expand to other town libraries, schools or other children's programs.  She says lessons plans are being developed now and will be shared when completed.

Sign-ups for the Caribou Public Library Princess and Prince anti-bullying and character building academy can be requested through the library at 30 High Street in Caribou, by phoning 207-493-4214 or emailing librarydirector@cariboumaine.org.
