Caribou Man Out on Bail Charged Again in Bath Salts Case
A Caribou man who was charged in June with trafficking in methamphetamine and bath salts has been arrested again on drug charges.
According to the Aroostook County Sheriff's Office, 50-year-old Ward Ballard was arrested Monday for being in possession of bath salts. Ballard was out on bail awaiting a court date on the earlier felony trafficking charges.
On June 18, police pulled over Ballard's car on Route 1 in Mars Hill. The Sheriff's Department investigation showed that illegal substances found in the vehicle turned out to be meth and bath salts.
Ballard was indicted on the drug trafficking charges earlier this month.
He was returned to the Aroostook County jail on charges of drug possession and violation of bail.
