The play will be performed on March 31, April first, seventh and eighth on the UMPI campus. Proceeds will benefit renovations to the auditorium at Wieden Hall.

"Last Gas is a love story about Nat who runs a convenience store in far northern Maine along the Canadian border. Cariani says the store is loosely based on Coffin's General Store in Portage. An old flame returns to the County after a death in the family and sees Nat in his store. From there, the story takes a number of twists and turns.

"Last Gas" is a follow up to Cariani's first play, "Almost Maine," a mythical town in Maine, which is being performed all over the world.

Tickets for "Last Gas" are available at the Aroostook Centre Mall's customer service window, Goin' Postal, the UMPI Campus Center or at the door each night of the performance.
