A Brunswick man collided with a moose Tuesday night after the animal crossed in the front of his vehicle on RT2A in Glenwood Plantation.

49-year-old Paul McCleary could not avoid the animal and struck the moose causing substantial damage to the hood, front bumper, front windshield, back windshield, and roof of the vehicle, said Sgt. Jeffrey C. Clark, Maine State Police, Troop F.

McCleary sustained a laceration to his head and also injured his right wrist, said Sgt. Clark. He was checked out by Calais Fire EMS and refused transport.  McCleary’s vehicle was a total loss. It was towed from the scene by York’s of Houlton.
