Canadian Man Arrested at the U.S. Border for Trying to Smuggle Meth

Charles Joseph Maillet, 49, tried to enter the U.S. at the Calais border, when a routine border patrol inspection of his car uncovered 2,002 tablets of methamphetamine.

Maillet tried to enter the country on Thanksgiving day, but the immigration card he presented was revoked. During the search a border patrol agent discovered the 2.36 pounds of meth pills.

The case has been turned over to the Maine prosecution office.
