Frank Vatrano was expected to be one of the young rising stars for the Boston Bruins this season. But, all that has been put on hold.

B's GM Don Sweeney says Vatrano tore ligaments in his foot while training for team camp that started a few days ago. Vatrano will have surgery Monday and is expected to miss three months.

The 22-year-old Vatrano scored 36 goals in 36 games in the AHL last season and then came up to the Bruins to add eight goals and three assists in 39 games.

The Bruins training camp is underway and the NHL season begins October 13th.
