University of Maine hockey forward Cam Brown has been recognized as one of the three stars by the NCAA for his efforts in the weekend split over the UConn Huskies.

Brown notched two assists versus the Huskies on the road in the 6-3 loss to UConn on Thursday, and then notched the game-winning goal at Frozen Fenway and chipped in two other assists.  On the season Brown has 26 points, including four goals and 22 assists.  For his work against UConn, he was awarded the third star for DI hockey.

The Black Bears are 8-11-3 on the year, including 2-7-1 in Hockey East play.  Next up for Maine is home and home series with Boston University starting on Friday night.
