Lise LeBlanc of Bouctouche was arrested on October 8, and held in custody following a bail hearing.

The charges stem from an incident on May 29, when police responded to a collision on Highway 475 near Chemin Desroches in Bouctouche. A vehicle had run off the road and was on the beach near the water.

When police arrived, they discovered  a 40-year-old Richibucto man on the side of the road with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the Sainte-Anne-de-Kent Hospital and later transported to the Moncton City Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

LeBlanc faces charges including discharging a firearm with intent, unsafe storage of a firearm, careless use of a firearm and aggravated assault, according to the RCMP.

She is scheduled to appear in court again on October 22.
