The RCMP is investigating a break, enter and theft at a jewelry store after someone allegedly crashed a stolen pickup through a mall in Bouctouche, New Brunswick.

Shortly after 4 a.m. Sunday, Bouctouche RCMP responded to an alarm at Place Le Bourg on Irving Boulevard, according to Sgt. Patrick Tardif. Upon arrival police determined a vehicle had smashed through an entrance of the mall to gain entry to Bijouterie Trésor d'Or.

Police received information that a vehicle was seen leaving the mall. A white Ford F-450 truck was found later that same day in the ditch in Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, Tardif said. The RCMP investigation has determined that the truck was stolen.

Police believe at least two people were involved in the theft of jewelry. The investigation is continuing.

Anyone with information on this crime or who may have seen a white pickup truck in the area of Place Le Bourg in the early hours of Sunday, March 5 is asked to call the Bouctouche RCMP at (506) 523-4611.
