Just like the weather, the Red Sox bats were hot and none were hotter than Travis Shaw and Xander Bogaerts who led Boston to an 11-7 win at Fenway Park.Shaw got the start at third base and in the 3rd inning hit his first career home run to give the Sox a 6-0 lead. He enjoyed the round tripper so much that he added a 2-run shot in the bottom of the 8th to cap the Red Sox scoring.

Not to be outdone, shortstop Xander Bogaerts went 4-5 at the plate, drove in 3 runs and stole a base. Rusney Castillo also heated up with 3 hits and 3 rbi.

Starting pitcher Joe Kelly reaped the benefits of the offense as it allowed him to pick up his third win despite giving up 5 runs on 9 hits over 5 innings of work.

Boston will go for the series sweep when Wade Miley takes the mound in Sunday's series finale.
