Xander Bogaerts blooped a bases loaded single with the bases loaded in the tenth inning and that turned out to be the winning hit in the Red Sox 5-3 win in San Francisco.

Bogaerts finished the game with two hits and three RBI.

Craig Kimbrel came on in the bottom of the 10th to pick up his 14th save.

The Sox pounded out nine hits against Giants pitching, including four doubles.

After scoring a run in the first two innings, starter Rick Porcello gave up the lead when he allowed three total runs in the second and third innings. For the night, Porcello pitched six innings, giving up those three runs on five hits, one walk and six strkeouts. He got a no decision.

Robbie Ross Jr., Koji Uehara and Junichi Tazawa combined for three scoreless innings to get the game to extras. Tazawa gets credit for the win.

David Ortiz was used as a pinch hitter - he got a RBI on a groundout. Manager John Farrell says he will only pinch hit in the two games in San Francisco because of no DH.
