New England Patriots' rusher Legarrette Blount has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Month by the NFL on Thursday.

Blount has been terrific for the Pats through the first three weeks of the season and has compiled 298 yards rushing with four touchdowns.  Both marks lead the NFLcurrently on the year.

The RB is just the second Patriots player ever to win the monthly award, with Corey Dillon being the other when he took the honor in 2004.

The Patriots are 3-0 on the season and will play the Buffalo Bills on Sunday to try to stay unbeaten.  Blount has been vital for the team's success as both Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett have had to play the QB spot while Tom Brady serves his four game suspension.
