Former University of Maine and current Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Ben Bishop joined the hockey fraternity of suffering an injury to the old chiclets.

Bishop took a hard shot from Toronto forward Peter Holland that knocked out some of his front teeth in the second period of Tuesday's game.  The puck bounced off his helmet to jar loose the teeth and cause a stoppage of play.

We know about the history of dental injuries throughout the NHL, but one to a goalie like Bishop is fairly rare with the helmets and padding they wear.  The netminder stayed in the game and helped the Lightning to 7-3 victory and improve the record for the team to 5-1.

Check out the shot the former Black Bear took last night!
