When it was announced that none other than Beyoncé would be a surprise performer at the 50th Annual Country Music Awards, the Beyhive (and everyone else) tuned into the award show for what was probably the first time. Most people guessed that she'd perform her soulful folk song, "Daddy Lessons" from Lemonade—and they were correct.

After much anticipation, Bey finally took the stage in a white gown, along with The Dixie Chicks, who've been covering the song since it was released. Together, they delivered a high-energy rendition of the song, complete with stacked live band that included horns, violinists, and more. Although some country fans were criticizing Bey's appearance on the awards show (which makes no sense since pop stars including Justin Timberlake have performed as recently as last year), Bey nevertheless did what she does best—entertained.

As if the live performance weren't enough, Bey also uploaded a version of the song with the Dixie Chicks on Soundcloud, which you can listen to below. Check out the performance at the CMAs above.
